Rishi Kapoor turns a baddie, yet again!

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is all set to play a baddie yet again in Yash Raj’s film, ‘Aurangzeb’. Earlier too, he had essayed the role of a villain in Karan Johar’s remake of Agneepath, for which he won several accolades.

“Yes Rishi Kapoor will be playing the role of a villain in ‘Auragzeb’,” a Yash Raj Film spokesperson told.

The film is said to be a remake of Trishul, released in 1978. However, there is no official confirmation yet. Arjun Kapoor has been signed as the lead hero. He will play a double role.

Directed by Atul Sabharwal, the film will also pair up Jackie Shroff and Amrita Singh after almost two decades.

It’s not easy to Scare Esha Gupta!

Esha Gupta, who started her career with Jannat2 is now gearing up for her next film, Raaz3. However, Esha says it’s tough acting in a horror film if u don’t get scared easily in real life.

Esha said, “I love watching horror films because I don’t get scared easily. So for me it was like, ‘Arey, kaise karungi ye main (How will I do it!)… when I don’t get scared, how am I going to act that I am scared, I can’t do it’.”

But the 26 year old gives full credit to director Vikram Bhatt for guiding her all the time throughout the shoot.

“I don’t think any one could have made me do what Vikram (Bhatt) has made me do. The whole imagination and expressions… I think the whole credit goes to the director,” said the model turned actress.

The film is based on black magic, but personally Esha doesnt believe in black magic.

“I don’t believe in black magic. But, I mean its never happened to anyone around me or to me, touchwood. I just think if there is good, there is (also) bad,” she added.

Raaz3 hits theaters on september 7th and also features Emraan Hashmi and Bipasha Basu.

100 crore offered to Sallu for a film?

Sallu’s recent box office success has been awesome! and ever since ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ smashed box office records, producers are waiting in que to sign a film with him.

If reports are true, Ramesh Taurani has offered Sallu A whopping sum of 100 crores to work in his film. If the deal goes through, Salman will be the highest paid actor in bollywood.

A source said, “Since Ek Tha Tiger has opened to whopping numbers, a lot of filmmakers have been approaching Salman for films. However, Taurani, who has worked with Salman before, is very keen to make a film with the actor.”

Sallu’s last 3 films have done business of over 150 crores, no wonder Taurani is willing to shell out such a huge amount of money to sign the actor.

Taurani confirmed the news of signing Sallu but denied the figure. He was quoted saying that Salman has signed a film with him, which will go on floors in 2013.

Joker is fun and exciting: Akshay Kumar

With just a week about to go for the release of Akshay Kumar’s Joker, Indian cinema for the first time will view a genre (of sci-fi in a village setting) which has never been seen before. And the expectations of fans are very high as they are hoping that Akki and Shirish Kunder will bring something new and good gor the Indian screen.

Akshay said, “I agree that it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. However it’s something which is fun and exciting for the families to enjoy. Sometimes that is more important than going for an obvious wannabe blockbuster. For now it’s time to let go and allow the aliens to take control.”

Akshay looked really amused when asked how he felt about people drwing out capirsons of the movie with other films like Lagaan, Swades and even Tees Maar Khan.

“Just because some out there find it typical, it has already been labeled despite only one promo to speak of. JOKER is JOKER, it has a little bit of everything and lots of everything else,” Akki further added.

Joker is sall set to release next friday. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade and Minissha Lamba.

Imran and Aamir Together at Last!

That’s right! We’ll finally get to see uncle and nephew team up on the big screen in none other than Rajkumar Hirani’s Peekay, which also stars Anushka Sharma.

There is tremendous excitement around this project primarily because the last collaboration between director Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan (Three Idiots) went on to become the highest grossing film of all time in Bollywood. But it is a lesser known fact that Peekay is actually a two-hero film and it has taken a bit of time to lock in the second lead.

The role was first offered to Ranbir who declined because he is not inclined towards multi-hero projects and is also busy with Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. Sources say that the makers were also keen to sign Ranveer Singh who was an apparent shoe-in for the role.

But finally, it was Aamir who suggested that the role for the younger lead go to Imran and he is now on board. The film is said to expose the hypocrisy of spiritual/religious leaders, all in Hirani’s inimitable style of course and the whole team is very excited about the script.

Parts of the film are said to be shot in Hungary, a location Hirani has apparently chosen due to factors such as low labor costs and tax incentives for foreign filmmakers.

Priyanka-Abhishek in ‘Dostana’ director’s next???

Tarun Mansukhani is very keen on roping in Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan in his next directorial for Dharma, but there’s one thing that has to be sorted out before the cast is actually finalized.. He has to get Priyanka Chopra and the film’s producer Karan Johar back on talking terms.

Though reports state that Priyanka and Johar are now talking to each other and that their differences have cleared up, things are still a little shaky on both sides.

Says a source, “Tarun is very keen to cast Priyanka and Abhishek Bachchan for the new film that he is directing for Dharma. Whether he actually succeeds in breaking the final communication barriers between Karan Johar and Priyanka after her explosive ‘cupcake allegations’, would depend entirely on how generous Karan chooses to be with people who have offended him in the past.”

Meanwhile, Karan doesn’t interfere in the directors choice of film titles and casting.

“Karan has apparently told Mansukhani that it’s the director’s call to cast whoever he wants. However, whether that translates into getting Priyanka back into the Dharma fold, remains to be seen,” added the source.

Shahrukh spends Eid alone!

Shahrukh Khan who we all know is a family man, is away from his family and friends spending his Eid all alone this year as he is in Laddakh shooting for Yash Chopra’s upcoming flick.

Sharukh expressed his feelings on twitter, he posted “All alone on Eid… on a thin winding road. Nowhere and everywhere. Just gave myself a hug after a long time. Will celebrate with happy winds.”

Though he spent Eid alone, he didn’t forget to wish his fans. “Eid Mubarak to everyone. May Allah fill your life with happiness. Look forward to reading the Takbirat in an open space in Ladakh.Insha Allah,” he tweeted.

SRK is currently shooting for YRF’s next also starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, the film is a romantic drama and will hit screens in November.

Aishwarya-Aaradhya to move to Chicago!

Following Mr perfectionist’s footsteps, Abhishek Bachchan is all set to rent a place in the US to accommodate his wife Aishwarya Rai and daughter Aaradhya, while he is busy shooting for Dhoom 3. The filming is scheduled for three months in the US.

Earlier this month, Aamir was in the US shooting for Dhoom 3. He took a home for rent, where his wife Kiran and toddler Azad were living. The actor preferred a homely atmosphere rather than spending on costly hotels. Taking a cue from Aamir, Jr Bachchan has decided to do the same.

Says a source, “Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya are joining him soon in Chicago. Big B and Jayaji will follow soon after. They want to get some time together away from home and prying eyes.”

Ek Tha Tiger banned in Pakistan!

The Pakistan censor board has banned the release of Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ in her country. The film was supposed to hit Pakistani theaters on the Eid weekend with 35 prints.

Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Breaking News: No release for Ek Tha Tiger in Pakistan.”

Reports have it that the reason for the film being banned in Pakistan is mainly because of its anti-Pakistan theme, where their powerful spy agency ISI is shown in bad light.

However, those who have watched the film says that the films theme is not anti-Pakistan but that of friendship between the two countries.

Director Kabir Khan is quoted to have said: “It is sad that a film promoting peace and friendship has fallen victim to politics.”

Back home, the film has seen a record breaking opening, collecting Rs 32.95 crore on its first day. ETT is said to have broken all the previous opening records.

Priyanka is not eyeing Satyagraha

Priyanka Chopra was in for a surprise when she woke up to the news making rounds around her being interested in doing Satyagraha. While the actress is hardly aware about what the film actually deals with, it has been claimed that she recently sent feelers to director Prakash Jha and expressed her interest in doing the film.

"This is untrue", informs a close associate, "Priyanka has most definitely not approached Prakash Jha for any film. She is currently neck deep into shooting for Krrish 3. Moreover her international album is about to be released as well and she is making frequent trips between India and U.S.A. for that. There are a couple of projects already in the anvil. In between this all, where is the time to get committed to another film?"

It was also being reported that while Prakash Jha had confirmed Kareena Kapoor for the film, he is now having another choice opening up in the form of Priyanka.

"That's entirely his call. If he considers Priyanka for any film, she would be most delighted as she obviously holds the director in very high regard. However the truth is that for Satyagraha, Priyanka is definitely not in contention", a trade source adds, "She has to promote Barfi! and then also wrap up Zanjeer. In any case, she is not bothered by such rumours making the rounds. She would rather concentrate on work than react to such baseless speculations."

John Abraham to produce RGV's Satya 2

Though for past few years, Ram Gopal Varma has been struggling to give a hit at the box office, the director gained an iconic status way back in 1998 with his film Satya. And now, nearly 14 years later, RGV is planning to make a sequel to the film titled Satya 2 and has managed to get none other than John Abraham to produce the film.

RGV announced on twitter, "I am not making Satya 2 to prove a point to myself or anybody else. In 1997, I was new in Mumbai and my child like fascination towards discovering its nuances is what which got reflected in Satya. After a while my expertise on it increased to the extent that I started taking my knowledge for granted which obviously will result in a certain degree of complacency and repetitiveness. But in Satya 2, after all these years I came across a subject matter which has put me in awe of it and is fascinating me to no end."

RGV said that John Abraham has agreed to produce the film but he won't act in it. "John is not acting in the film, for that matter he is not even doing an item song. The film is being done with complete new comers many of whom have not even had stage or TV experience. John heard the concept of Satya 2 through a mutual friend (Ram Mirchandani, co-producer of Vicky Donor) and he expressed interest. When I met him and we spoke at length I was amazed at his insights into my detailed narration of Satya 2 story. It's purely our common excitement towards the subject matter which is making us collaborate."

Though the film is titled Satya 2, RGV claims that it is completely different from Satya. "This is a completely different story with completely different characters. In fact, there won't even be a reference to the first Satya in any which way." He also added that, "The difference between Satya and Satya 2 is that if Satya was a story of a man who came to Mumbai in 1997 and got shaped by circumstances in the then existing underworld Satya 2 is about a man who came to Mumbai in 2012 to create his own circumstances and reinvent the underworld."

While the principal shooting will start after RGV's work on 26/11 film is over, the director has already started conducting the auditions for the actors.

Advance booking opens for Aamir's Talaash

For those who were wondering whether Aamir Khan would be further postponing his Talaash after already moving it around a couple of times, here is some good news. The film's release, which was slated to be on November 30, is now final and there won't be any further postponement. To reaffirm this message, the makers have also done something unprecedented - They have opened the advance booking in select theatres and that too when the film is still over 100 days away.

"Never before has this happened for any Bollywood film but perhaps this is Aamir's way of making an announcement quite loud and clear", says an insider, "At many multiplexes across major centres in the country, the film's advance booking has already opened for November 30. While patrons were in for a surprise when they realized that they could book tickets for Talaash well in advance, it is also a way for producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani to gauge audience curiosity much in advance."

Though in Hollywood this is a trend for major biggies, in case of Talaash it is all the more relevant since there have been multiple changes in plans for the film. In fact till a fortnight ago it had seemed that Aamir wanted some more changes in the film and hence had requested director Reema Kagti to make changes.

"All of that was mere speculation but this is the real truth. Aamir is through with 'Satyameva Jayate' and would be working backwards now to execute his 100 days plan", adds a source, "Expect the promotional campaign to kick-start any time now."

When that happens, it would happen. Meanwhile for audience the opening of film's plans has at least ended the 'talaash' of a film that seemed like forever in the making.

Launch of Delhi Safari’s “Fight for us Write for us” Campaign!

 We told you earlier about director Nikhil Advani’s campaign to write to the Prime Minister to protect the habitat of the wild animals. This unique marketing initiative is for his upcoming 3D animation film Delhi Safari. Nikhil Advani, Boman Irani, Govinda, Bittu Sahgal, Shankar Mahadevan, Loy Mendonsa and Swini Khara were present at the Delhi Safari press meet held at PVR Juhu and initiated the ambitious nationwide campaign titled, “Fight for Us Write for Us” on 9th August, 2012.

Explaining the campaign Advani said, “We will ask students from over 1000 schools to send letters in support of the cause, which will then be sent to the Prime Minister’s office. We will use the internet and social media to reach out to as many as possible, so that the petition reaches the PM’s office by Wildlife Week (in October).”

The powerful campaign has at its heart, a desire to invoke concern about the massive deforestation and killing of wildlife in this country. The school contact program will trigger all the participating schools to take an oath on August 15th, 2012, our Independence Day. All the students after the flag hoisting, will take a pledge to save to “Save Our Forests, Save Our Animals, Save Mankind”. And for the animal kingdom they will pledge, “Write For Us, Fight For Us”.

Delhi Safari is India’s first 3D stereoscopic animation feature film which highlights the urgent cry of animals against deforestation. Delhi Safari is about five animals from Borivali National Park, who meet the Prime Minister in Delhi with a plea to stop builders from encroaching on their forests. Urmila Matondkar gave voice to the leopard, BEGUM, who in the film leads the group of five messengers to Delhi to voice their concern for the wellbeing of the animals and fight against deforestation. Akshaye Khanna voices the parrot, Alex, who is the voice of the animals to mankind. Swini has voiced the cub leopard, Yuvi. It is Yuvi’s idea to not run away from their homes (forest) and take a team to Delhi to the Parliament to fight against deforestation. Also featured are vocal performances by Boman Irani and Govinda, with music by the great Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The cast of the film said that they find the message in the film so relevant to today’s times and it is important for every citizen of this planet to fight for to save the earth.

Founder-Editor, Sanctuary Asia Bittu Sahgal said that what the environmentalist have been trying to achieve in the last 20 years in India, this film has communicated in 90 minutes. He was so impressed with the film that he decided to whole-heartedly support the cause and the message of the film. Each postcard carries his message as the main message to the Prime Minister.

Audience just needs entertainment, says Salman!

After four back to back blockbusters, the expectations from Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ are enormous. However Salman doesn’t feel the pressure, he says that the audience is always right if your film is entertaining it will work well.

“I don’t feel the pressure. If a film doesn’t do well, it doesn’t do well. Let’s see in the next film… If a film is a hit, it’s a good film, it is a terrific film. But if it flops, it’s a bad film. (Whatever it is), audience is always right,” Salman told IANS in an interview.

“When I hear the script, I just want to be entertained. I just want twists and turns so that the audience should have some kind of entertainment – be it in romance, action, drama or any kind of entertainment.”

“When the audience comes out of the theatres, they must say ‘Wow, what a film’,” and according to him that’s the best reward any actor can get.

Even though he’s done all generes, he doesn’t know what will click with the audience.

“It is a very dangerous position to be in right now because with next film, I don’t know what to do. If I take up action, it would be like ‘Again action!’ If I go for a romantic film, then it will be like ‘How is it going to work?’. If a script comes up which has a larger-than-life character, then people will say ‘Isko koi mar hi nahi sakta hain kya (Can no one beat him or what?)… It will get boring.”

The 46 year old says he only listens to his heart and tries giving his best for all his films. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ sees Sallu as an undercover RAW agent and the film hits theater’s on 15th august.

A real aatma on the sets of Aatma ?

A lot of people have witnessed and experienced mysterious and spooky incidents while shooting for horror films. And Suparn Verma’s upcoming psychotic thriller ‘Aatma’ which stars Bips and Nawazuddin Sidique is no different.

Abhishek Pathak, the producer of the film said, “While shooting for one scene there was a photo frame hanging on the wall behind  Abhishek Pathak , which at one point tilted a little bit but since the actor was very engrossed in the scene, Suparn decided not to cut the scene and go ahead with the shoot. But later to our shock, that particular photo frame fell on the floor even though there was no breeze in the room.”

And that’s not it, the buzz is that while the crew was shooting in Vashi, Suparn had his headphones plugged in as he was listening to the dialogues delivered by the actors when suddenly he could hear the distant sound of a woman singing! quite to his surprise as soon as he took out his headphones he could not hear anything neither could any of the crew members.

When asked if this incident was true Suparn said, “Only I and Bipasha heard the sound at first I kept quite but when Bipasha said she heard a woman singing I said I heard too but when the sound recordist played it back there was no sound on tape.”

Well this story definitely sends down jitters through the spine.
