Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela seems to be on a winning streak even before its release. It now heads to the Marrakesh Film Festival where it would be opening the festival.
Says a source close to SLB Productions, "Ram-Leela was earlier invited to the Dubai Film Festival and the Rome Film Festival. However, Sanjay Bhansali opted not to take the film to either of these festivals as they are to be held prior to the film's public release. There is always the danger ofthe film's content being broadcast all over the net before release if screened anywhere. Sanjay didn't want to take the risk."
Since Ram-Leela is to be screened at Marrakesh on November 29, two weeks after the film's public release, the film's director is comfortable with the Festival screening, though it is unlikely that Sanjay Bhansali would attend the festival.
Says the source, "The film's lead pair Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are expected to be in Marrakesh. And since they so enjoy each other's company, there is absolute enthusiasm in both the actors going to represent the film at Marrakesh."
